Activity 1. What would you change about your life?
Think about your life as it is now. Would you like to change something about it? Take a look at this survey and choose!Activity 2. Let's watch a video about Malala Yousafzai
Activity 3. Now that we know Malala...
After watching Malala's video it is time to work in groups of three or four. Each group will receive one of the following questions:- Malala was only 12 years old when that video was recorded and you can see she has no trouble speaking English. Why do you think she has got such a high level in English? (answered by groups 1 & 2)
- Why was she shot? What do you think about a blog as a contesting tool to achieve gender equality? (answered by groups 3 & 4)
- Malala is raising up her voice for the right to education in Pakistan. Why do you think she pursuits such a fundamental right and why do you think she is so happy for being able to study? (answered by groups 5 & 6)
- Do you share her view, would you stand up for your rights in such a situation despite the negative consequencies it may have? Why / Why not? (answered by groups 7 & 8)
Activity 4. Your personal experience
Now think about your own home. Who takes care of each household chore? Is it your father? Or is it your mother? Take a look at the table and fill it in with your own experience. Remember there is no right or wrong answer, you are just giving your own experience! Afterwards, in groups of four people, compare and discuss your results.
Very participatory!! I like it!
